Welcome to Lytheside Cottage, Ravenstonedale
En Route to Scotland
Lytheside Cottage is normally run on a bed and breakfast basis but is also available for weekend breaks or longer on a self catering basis.
Situated in a region of outstanding natural beauty near the village of Ravenstonedale in Cumbria, Lytheside Cottage offers traditional farmhouse cottage accommodation amid stunning Cumbrian fells. It lies between the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Lake District National Park. In addition to it being a perfect holiday destination in its own right the cottage is also perfectly placed for a stop en route to Scotland for one night or more.
The walking from Lytheside Cottage is stunning. From its own front door you can walk straight out onto the Howgill Fells, Ash Fell or Wild Boar Fell to enjoy wild and unspoiled countryside. The surrounding fells are a haven for wild flowers, animal and bird life. In spring time, the surrounding fells and fields are alive to the sound of Curlew and Oyster Catcher and later into the summer you can hear Snipe drumming from the bedroom window. The Lake District fells and the Yorkshire Dales lie within a 30 minute drive.
Lytheside Cottage is just 15 minutes from the M6 junction 38. The proximity of the M6 and the A66 make day trips to such places as Durham, Newcastle and York easy, all lying within an easy hour and half drive.
Well behaved dogs are very welcome.
