Lytheside Cottage is surrounded on all sides by stunning Cumbrian fells. The cottage itself is on the side of Ash Fell and nearby are the Howgills, described by Wainwright as appearing like a herd of sleeping elephants. The adjacent valley is Mallerstang. All these areas offer wonderful scenery in which to relax or partake in the many interests and activities available locally.
